Directed and choreographed by Madeline Hollander as part of a program of arts events in Paris around the 2024 Olympic Games.
Produced the project from initial concept to delivery. Developed the technical strategy for the production team in Paris, including selecting camera systems for high-speed movement, and managed all post-production. Worked closely with the director to develop a structure for the dance in the edit, and coordinated with the composer and colorist through final delivery. Liaised with Paris producers and represented the film at its screening.
Recorded on the rooftop of the Stade de France, the film is made up of about 2000 frame holds of dancers re-enacting images from sports photography of significant games that have taken place at the stadium from 1998 to present. Awarded the Cultural Olympiad label by the Organizing Committee for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Broadcast on France.TV and screened at the Théâtre de la Concorde.
Hollander's pieces have been performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Joyce, New York; The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Paris, and Louvre Abu Dhabi, and she has collaborated with Jordan Peele on his feature film Us (2019) and was the Stunt Choreographer and Movement Consultant on Christopher Nolan's Tenet (2020).
